The Heritage Garden program provides a unique way to educate homeowners, municipalities and businesses about the water savings that can be achieved by converting from high water-use landscapes to lower water-use landscapes.

Kelsey Kelmel is the Yakima Heritage Garden Program Coordinator.  She is actively involved in the Columbia Basin Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society and also works for a nearby native plant nursery where she grows native species.
